Play Misty for Me

Play Misty for Me, Clint Eastwood's directorial debut is an intense, psychotic and chilling thriller of what happens when David Garver (Clint Eastwood) picks up the wrong woman, Jessica Walter (Evelyn Draper.) Filmed on location in stunning Carmel, California, hometown to Clint Eastwood, "Play Misty For Me" is a shatteringly creepy tale of deadly obsession.

Clint Eastwood's voice could not have been more perfectly suited as he melted into the role of a radio D.J. Along with his smooth and rugged good looks, sexy and cool attitude, Clint's character was also at wits end, frazzled with guilt, frustration and haunting fear.

Jessica Walter received a Best Actress Golden Globe nomination for her role of an obsessive, destructive and psychologically disturbed woman. If you liked Glen Close in "Fatal Attraction", wait till you see Jessica, she's a true head-case!

Donna Mills played "Tobie Williams", on again off again girlfriend to David. Donna played her role with gentle sweetness and loveliness. I like her, and she's one of my favorite TV stars, so it was nice to see her in a theatrical feature.

Numerous DVD extras include "Play It Again: A look back at Play Misty For Me", "The Beguiled", Misty, Don and Clint, Clint Eastwood on DVD, photograph montage, Clint Eastwood directs and acts, evolution of a poster, theatrical trailer, production notes, cast and filmmakers and DVD ROM features.

The tender, romantic, and gorgeous voice of Roberta Flack can be heard singing her classic "First Time Ever I saw Your Face", along with composer Erroll Garner's stunningly beautiful "Misty".

"Play Misty for Me," a stunning example of the terror that comes from within an obsessed mind.
