Eddie and the Cruisers

In 1963, rocker Eddie Wilson (Michael Pare) died in a horrible accident, but oddly, his body was never recovered. Twenty years later his music, along with his band-mates, "The Cruisers," are hitting the airwaves hotter than flapjacks can melt butter. Maggie Foley (Ellen Barkin), a TV reporter, is looking into turning the tragic past of the band into a story and her lead headline focuses on the possibility of Eddie not really being dead and with finding the lost and last known recording of the bands never-released album.

DVD extras include original theatrical trailer, English: stereo surround and French & Spanish language subtitles.

I'm an '80s girl, so where the heck was I when this movie came out? Hmm, probably in my room pretending to do Flashdance moves and thinking I could be in a Poison or Warrant music video. I certainly remember the music in Eddie and the Cruisers, especially "On The Dark Side" and "Tender Years," but I missed a good flick! However, I'm happy to be able to review it 21 long years later and be able to say Eddie and the Cruisers "I love you guys"! I also particularly enjoyed the song "Season in Hell."

Eddie and the Cruisers is a great movie with awesome music by John Cafferty and terrific performances by Michael Pare, Tom Berenger as (Frank Ridgeway) and Joe Pantoliano as (Doc Robbins.)

Oh yeah, also worth mentioning is that this movie is definitely a good pick with the family. No sex, no violence, no naughty or real bad stuff one might think would occur with a rocking music group from the '60s. I'm not saying I wouldn't have minded some sheet action with Berenger and Pare and their significant other since they're hot, but deep down, I'm old fashion and respected and really enjoyed this good and clean rock story.

Hey Eddie, when are you and the Cruisers putting on a comeback tour? It's the in-thing nowadays, so hop aboard the '80s train and get back on track with some more kicking music!
