Ed Sheeran

Born in Halifax, England, Edward Christopher Sheeran had grown to be one of the most-favorite singers/songwriters in the pop culture.

His musical talent was initially exposed at the age of four when he started singing in church. Sheeran then learned to play guitar at a young age and began writing songs in high school. He listened to Van Morrison throughout his childhood.

The English singer began producing an EP in 2005, entitled The Orange Room EP. At this point, he was performing for very small crowds. He once even played for a crowd of five people.

After going on tour with English rapper Example, who found him through a video he posted on SB.TV, Sheeran decided to fly to L.A. without holding any contracts.

Jamie Foxx spotted his talent and allowed him to use his recording studio. Elton John was noted as one of the singers who spotted his talent, and helped his way up.

In 2010, people started to know him through YouTube, and he slowly reached to stardom.

He then released another independent EP, entitled No. 5 Collaboration Project. This EP got mainstream attentions for reaching number two on iTunes.

Sheeran was then signed into Asylum/Atlantic Records.

His first mainstream album was +.

Two of his songs, "The A Team" and "Lego House," were certified quintuple platinum in the UK. He also won two BRIT Awards for the songs.

"The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year for the 2013 Grammy Awards.
