Born on Valentine's Day, Angelique Meunier was born into Mauritian-Australian parents in Melbourne, Australia.
She first developed her love to the entertainment world when she was signed to a British recording label with a group called Fishbowl. The band was about to release its first single when it fell apart because Brown decided to become a DJ.
This brought her to tour in small venues around Melbourne, and working with Australian promoters around the continent.
From this point, she was signed up for Island Records Australia, and established credibility even more by performing as a support act for Rihanna, Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears, Enrique Iglesias and Chris Brown in their Australian tours.
She debuted her appearance as a recording artist with single "We Run the Night," which was sold for 210,000 copies, and certified triple platinum by Australian Recording Industry (ARIA). It peaked at number five in the ARIA chart and received two ARIA awards.
The Australian DJ, singer and dancer was then signed up to American recording company, Universal Republic, and released the remix of "We Run the Night," featuring Pitbull, the rapper.
When asked about influences, Brown cited Janet Jackson as her biggest influence, and said she idolized Jackson.
