Kanye West

Kanye West is a musician, director and fashion designer who hails from Chicago, IL. He first came to prominence as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records. In addition to his five solo albums which have all gone platinum, he has had 6 songs exceed 3 million in digital sales as of December 2012 including “Gold Digger,” “Heartless” and “Love Lockdown.” These figures place him as third in digital sales over the past decade. He is also one of the most awarded artists of all time with a current total of 21 Grammy Awards. He is also the head of G.O.O.D Music, which is the home of artists including Kid Cudi, Common, Big Sean and John Legend. However, as famous as he is for his music, West is well-known, if not infamous, for his habit of being outspoken as most recently expressed in a rant in London. Previous controversies have included interrupting Taylor Swift’s award speech at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009 and his speaking out against George W. Bush during a benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina.

Currently, he is dating Kim Kardashian who is reported to be expecting their first child. He has an album planned for 2013 which is reported to be one of the most anticipated of the year.
