Once upon a musical episode

You may be thinking with all the sneak peeks and song releases that you’ve basically already seen “The Song in Your Heart,” but I’m here to tell you there’s more to it than these lively ditties, which mostly take place in the past. We’re going to leave it at that for now, however, because we don’t want to spoil it for you! Just trust us, you’ve got to watch this episode.

It would appear that regardless of all the years of interest and teasing, no one really expected a Once Upon a Time musical episode. Even the actors themselves seem surprised that this episode has finally come into being. It makes sense though, as Yvette Nicole Brown has pointed out at SDCC for years, due to the amazing talents of the Once Upon a Time cast.

Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan) comes from a very musically talented family. She has an amazing voice, as you shall hear, and admittedly loves playing the piano, though she claims she’s not good at it. In this snippet you’ll hear that her song is not just beautifully rendered, but based on Emma’s theme score composed by the marvelous Mark Isham.

The lovely Lana Parrilla (Regina Mills/Evil Queen) might claim that she can’t sing (as she did at Fairy Tales III), but that wasn’t exactly true. Now that her Evil Queen rockin’ solo has come out, everyone knows!

I also love how, in the interviews above, Parrilla describes the Evil Queen’s solo as “David Bowie meets The Rocky Horror Picture Show!” See if you can hear the similarities between the guitar riffs of “Love Doesn’t Stand a Chance” and “Sweet Transvestite” for yourself.

Our very own Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) has a history on Broadway. That’s right, our main man is a triple threat! We can’t leave out his leading lady, though. Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White) also has quite a pair of lungs. You may have heard her vocals as Judy Hopps on Zootopia. Now, you can hear the magic of their voices together.

Of course, Colin O’Donoghue (Captain Hook/Killian Jones) is already known for his singing and guitar playing. He co-founded the band The Enemies prior to his current acting gig, and used those talents in the film The Dust Storm. I suppose it’s only fair, after all these years, that he use them for Once Upon a Time too. Besides, I have to admit, O’Donoghue is really good at pulling off the flair needed for a successful musical.

It turns out that many more of the cast members can sing and dance. You’ll be able to see vignettes by Beverly Elliott (Granny), Tony Amendola (Geppetto), Lee Arenberg (Grumpy/Leroy) in “Love Doesn’t Stand a Chance,” and a wicked solo by our one and only Wicked Witch, Rebecca Mader.

Check out this sampling of Once Upon a Time’s musically talented cast, including Parrilla, Dallas, Maguire, O’Donoghue, Goodwin, Mader and more.

Even Jared Gilmore (Henry) had a line in the culminating performance. These songs may not be the familiar Disney songs from our characters’ derivative animation films, but they are in the same vein/spirit. They have a good, yet “wacky,” way of capturing the emotion of the scene or situation whether it be anger, love, sadness, desperation, wickedness, or the overt desire to win.

There are two sides to this event: the fans who can’t wait for it to air, and the ones who can’t wait for it to be over. Which are you? Regardless, be sure to watch tonight on ABC at 8 p.m. EDT so that you can claim the merits of your opinion. Then, check back here for our review!

Harry Potter actor Jim Tavare, who was involved in a life-threatening car accident earlier this month, has been reunited with the dog that stood by his side during the ordeal.

In his inauguration speech heard around the world, Donald Trump gave a loud and clear message to other countries that it’s going to be America first from now on. There weren’t any countries that responded to Trump’s proposed foreign policy … until now.

The Dutch have reached out to Trump and inquired, can the Netherlands be second?

Zondag met Lubach, a Dutch satirical comedy show, created a parody tourism ad in response to Trump’s presidency. The ad seeks to get in good favor with Trump by highlighting things he would like about the country including an ocean built to keep Mexican water out, a disabled reporter that he can mock and the best ever tax evasion system created by God. The narrator mimics Trump’s speech style too, which adds to the humor.

Arjen Lubach, the Jon Stewart-like host of the show, tweeted the video and made sure to tag the new POTUS in it as well.

Michelle Obama receives a fun sendoff on ‘The Tonight Show’

The Tonight Show with host Jimmy Fallon gave a hilarious and emotional goodbye to First Lady Michelle Obama on Wednesday, Jan. 11.

The sendoff included a beautiful performance by Stevie Wonder and a hilarious game of Catchphrase with special guests Jerry Seinfeld and Dave Chappelle.

The farewell started with a taped segment in which strangers spoke to a portrait of the First Lady, thanking her for various things, from getting their child to eat vegetables to just being a role model.  What they didn’t know, was that Michelle Obama was actually standing behind a curtain, listening to them.

Try not to smile when she surprises some of her biggest fans!

Then, the First Lady sat down for her final late night interview as FLOTUS with Fallon.  They addressed Sasha’s absence at President Obama’s final presidential address, which was due to a final exam she had the following day. “You know the Obama’s, girl.  Sorry.  Better take your test.  You can say goodbye later,” said the FLOTUS.  She also took the time to give an emotional thank you to her mother and take a look back at her time in the White House.

Check out some of the clips below!

Next, Mrs. Obama joined Jimmy behind the desk in his popular segment “Thank You Notes.”  Mrs. Obama wrote thank you notes to her husband, Inauguration Day and her initiative Reach Higher, while Fallon wrote all of his notes to the First Lady herself.

See their hilarious sentiments below!

Following the Thank You Notes, the First Lady and Fallon teamed up against comedians Jerry Seinfeld and Dave Chappelle in a heated game of Catchphrase.  Fallon and FLOTUS won the game, with Seinfeld and Chappelle taking the loss in stride.

Finally, one of the First Lady’s favorite musicians Stevie Wonder performed a special rendition of his two hits”Isn’t She Lovely” and “My Cherie Amour.”  He changed some of his lyrics to directly address Mrs. Obama while he performed with The Roots.

Michelle Obama’s time on The Tonight Show marks her final late night talk show appearance as FLOTUS.

John Stamos still has a few swoon-worthy moments in him.

According to People, the Fuller House star recently visited Long Beach Memorial Hospital with his Grandfathered co-star Josh Peck. While there, he learned that a hospital patient named Amanda had recently been dumped by boyfriend Jorge. Proving that chivalry is most certainly not dead, Stamos called Jorge up to give him a piece of his mind.

“Jorge, this is John Stamos,” he said. “I’m with Amanda, my new girlfriend. Apparently you guys broke up and I swooped right in. So, your loss, Jorge — your loss, because Amanda is a great gal.”

Jorge reportedly picked up the phone mid-call and spoke directly to Stamos.

“I think you made a big mistake,” Stamos said as Peck and Amanda laughed. “But it’s nice to meet you, pal.”

Whether Jorge takes Stamos’ advice or not, it’s safe to say this is a phone call he will certainly tell his friends about.

The actress showed off her new blue-black do with a 10-second video and the caption, “Short blue hair don’t care? .”

Last week, the 19-year-old’s name was in the headlines for a very different reason. She was at the center of a love-triangle when Charlie Puth tweeted about his heart being messed with after he read something about her still being with her ex Tyler Posey. Thorne, however, tweeted that the article he was referring to was not current and actually written a while ago when she and the Teen Wolf star were still dating.

As for her new look, it was meant with mostly positive feedback on social media but there’s no telling how long Bella will keep it since she been known to change her hair color often.
