‘Backyard Sports: Sandlot Sluggers’ for Xbox360, Nintendo Wii and DS

You can take your team through a regular season before entering postseason play or skip the regular season and head directly to the playoffs

Atari’s Backyard Sports: Sandlot Sluggers was made available for purchase at quality retailers located nationwide on Tuesday, May 25, 2010. The game is rated “E for Everyone” and it is playable on three popular consoles, including Xbox360, Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii. Backyard Sports: Sandlot Sluggers is an action-packed baseball video game that provides you with new, visually appealing fields, various mini-games and super-charged Power-Ups.

The super-charged Power-Ups are special moves that give you an additional edge during the game, which makes them an essential commodity in hard-fought contests. There are five unique mini-games in Backyard Sports: Sandlot Sluggers, including breakout, cube, dingers, hot potato and pickle. In breakout, accuracy is more important than power since the object of the mini-game is to hit breakable targets that are located to the sides of the mound.

As for the other enjoyable mini-games, cube is reminiscent of Simon Says while the game of dingers is essentially a homerun hitting contest between you and your friends in a multi-player format. In the mini-game of hot potato, the classic children’s toy is replaced by an explosive baseball. Pickle, of course, is based on the fun-loving squeeze play where the base runner is stuck in between two bases.

To go along with the mini-games that are at your disposal in Backyard Sports: Sandlot Sluggers, there are several game modes that you can choose from such as family-fun mode, pick, playoffs, season and story.
