Russian Standard Vodka adheres to the age old idea that what is new is old again. The brand, which was launched in 1998, is one of the major success stories in the spirits scene, despite founder and entrepreneur Roustam Tariko’s idea that the company make its vodka using a formula developed in the 19th Century for the Czars. By using this formula, Russian Standard could present a superior quality of vodka, celebrating its birthplace and its history.
Russian Standard’s recipe follows and even surpasses guidelines set by Mendeleev, the scientist who set the standards of vodka. Russian Standard uses hand-selected winter wheat grains of the highest quality from Russia’s Black Steppes and blends them with glacial waters from Lake Ladoga. Then, the mix is distilled in a $60 million state-of-the-art facility in St. Petersberg that is one of the most advanced in the world. After four distillations and four charcoal filtrations, the vodka is finally ready to be packaged and enjoyed all over the world, including mother Russia. It now makes up 64 percent of the premium vodka market in Russia and this success has spread to the US, where it was introduced in 2007.
Russian Standard Vodka is easily one of the best premium vodkas in the world.
