Armor On is the new independent music release by Dawn Richard, marking the singer/songwriter’s debut as a solo music artist in the music industry.
The singer delivers ten tracks on the new EP recording, composed of easy tempos mixed with moody Electronic rhythms, sounds, and R&B vocals. Richard’s performance and vocal tones are earthy, grounded, and remain consistent throughout the new title. The EP, produced by Andrew “Druski” Scott, is a preview of Richard’s forthcoming full-length studio recording, The Goldenheart Trilogy. “Bombs," selected as the lead single to introduce Richard’s new work, is a tribal infused electro R&B track. The main vibe conveyed is the sense and comfort in being a solo music act, and the independence to explore new sounds and sonic territory.
Richard began her career with and is now a former member of the Making the Band reality television girl group, Danity Kane. She later went on to join her music industry mentor, Sean “Diddy" Combs, and his new trio, Dirty Money. Danity Kane, as a collective, scored popular musical hits such as “Damage,” off the group’s sophomore release, Welcome to the Dollhouse, and “Hello Good Morning” and “Coming Home,” from Diddy-Dirty Money’s debut and only recording, Last Train to Paris.
Dawn Richard’s Armor On merely serves as an introduction to the singer’s continued potential to a successful solo career.
