Riddle the Sphinx released Professional Pretender recently. The CD, composed by the Los Angeles trio, is filled with soft vocals that are soothing and lyrics that portray life struggles and the issues of love, which are beautifully harmonized and written.

The use of piano helps the songs flow evenly along with the lyrics.

The music can encompass any listener with this dynamic trio’s use of simple and real language that can make even the most skeptic listeners nod their head along.

“Your words, they stray, they do.” Lyrics like this fill the album and become a symbol of independence and reassurance in a time when love is so misleading.

The lead vocals are powerful and reminiscent of lead woman singers from the 90’s. It’s the perfect combination of new and old with the fusion of the piano and the two lead female vocals.

The CD is unexpected but very refreshing. The sound is familiar but it definitely sets them apart from the rest of the artists on the charts right now. It’s a pleasant change to hear and the music is sure to make anyone happy.

The album is uplifting and simple. The perfect soundtrack for a warm summer night.

I give this album 3.5 out of 5 stars.
