The EDM/rock/pop fused group Krewella released a video for their single “Human” using the song as a soundtrack for a short documentary of the band’s tour over the last two years.
“This video was shot during our last two years of touring. It is dedicated to you, our Krew…the ones that make this dream possible.” Jahan, Yasmine, and “Rain Main” read the screen at the beginning of the uniquely crafted video, directed and filmed by Miles Evert. In three minutes and fifty seconds, we get a glimpse into the world of touring, including some arguments, but mainly focusing on the members as real people, and as the song suggests, human.
With real life struggles leaving loved ones as they go out on the road, shots of performances, and even candid talking, the video takes you on the journey with the trio, Kris “Rain Man” Trindl, and sisters Yasmin and Jahan Yousaf.
The song itself, with heartfelt lyrics "They say pain is an illusion/ This is just a bruise and/you are just confused but I am only human," really showcases Krewella’s unique sound, melding an acoustic guitar at the beginning, shifting to piano then to a more traditional EDM synthesized sound, while still keeping the medley at the pace of a ballad.
This is the band’s fourth single off of their debut album Get Wet, which charted in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 200 in its first week.
