Abbi Glines- ‘Misbehaving’ review

Misbehaving is the latest from the New York Times, USA TODAY, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Abbi Glines. It is the sixth book from the The Sea Breeze Series.

Growing up in a small town in Alabama Jess has gained the reputation of the bad girl with a sassy and fierce attitude. With her mother being an infamous stripper, Jess has learned the power of her body. Flaunting her curves and batting her eyelashes has always gotten Jess out of trouble. Despite being comfortable in Alabama Jess wants a chance at a better life. Jess desperately wants to finish college, get a job and a fresh start in a new city.

Jason Stone, Jax Stone’s younger brother, is tired of living in his brother’s shadow. Jax is a rock star sensation that makes headlines constantly. Jason heads to Jax’s home in Alabama to evaluate his life and jumps at the chance to escape from the world. One night he crosses paths with a petite gorgeous blonde running out of the woods with a baseball bat.

Jason’s interest is piqued as he helps Jess flee from the scene. Jess and Jason soon find out that they have the same group of friends. As they spend time with one another the chemistry between them ignites. The relationship starts off as an innocent fling but turns into something serious when Jason realizes he is falling in love with Jess. As Jason starts to feel overwhelmed with his newfound emotions, he starts to pull away.

Jess, being used to men letting her down, deals with her heartbreak quietly. The charismatic and irresistible lead singer from the local popular band Jackdown, Krit Corbin, lifts Jess’ spirits. Krit has always harbored feelings for Jess and now that she is single he acted on the opportunity. Jess loves being around Krit but she feels like something is missing from their relationship. Jason comes back to Alabama and realizes that Jess has moved on. A gritty love triangle is introduced and Jess is forced to pick between Krit or Jason.

Misbehaving is my favorite thus far from the The Sea Breeze Series. It was refreshing to see the heroine in a different light since Jess wasn’t the typical good girl inexperienced virginal character. I loved that Jess had a wild carefree spirit and didn’t let anyone change that. It’s a steamy angst read that will have you rooting for a happy ending. Jess’ struggles and hardships come to an end as she gets her fairy tale ending with Jason.

The Sea Breeze Series continues with Bad For You, which is set to be released on April 1. It follows the ultimate bad boy rock star Krit Corbin.
