Dallas Green, former vocalist of the band Alexisonfire, released a new album under the moniker City and Colour in June of this year. The album, Little Hell, is his third for his solo career.
I have been a huge fan of Green’s voice, even when he was in Alexisonfire. It is extremely identifiable. He sounds like no one else. When I first started to listen to his work, I did a review of his song “Sleeping Sickness” which was off of his second album, Bring Me Your Love, which I have been constantly addicted to.
This past weekend, I was perusing through the CD collection at a local music store, and, to my surprise, the store carried Green’s newest album. Without any hesitation whatsoever, I bought the CD and raced home to listen to it on repeat over the entire weekend.
I have come to the conclusion that the first song off the CD, “We Found Each Other in the Dark,” will indefinitely be my wedding song. All other song suggestions made by my lucky man will be tossed aside.
The 11-track album has gained a spot in my tiny CD case that I reserve for my most cherished albums. Let’s just say Mr. Green has taken the first slot in the case as well. Little Hell will be the first album I ever grab out of there, and, possibly, the only album I will every play out of there again.
I give this album a billion thumbs up (as cheesy as that sounds).
