Alex Elman Wines

A Cabernet Sauvignon, a Chardonnay, a Malbec, and a Torrontés are featured in Elman’s inaugural portfolio

Alex Elman, one of the most renowned wine connoisseurs in the world, has come out with a dynamic portfolio that includes a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Chardonnay, a Malbec, and a Torrontés.

Elman, who lost her vision at the age of 27 in 1995 due to complications from diabetes and various eye surgeries, is known as the “Blind Wine Chick” for her uncanny ability to deconstruct wines with her sensitized palate.

Elman unveiled the inaugural portfolio in 2010, just a year after deciding to create her very own label of wines.

Perfect with Italian dishes such as lasagna and decadent delights such as chocolate cake, 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon features notes of berries and spices.

The well-balanced acidity of 2010 Chardonnay makes it an optimal complement to dishes such as scaloppini. Notes of vanilla and green apple make the Chardonnay deceptively bright, while the fact that it is unoaked allows the buttery flavor to enter the forefront of the palate.

A ruby wine with notes of cherry and candied apple, 2009 Malbec is ideal for tomato-based pasta dishes and spicy sauces.

An ideal complement to light fish and mild cheeses, 2010 Torrontés’ notes of orange citrus and honeydew make it lightly floral with a long finish.
