Angus and Julia Stone are a brother-sister musical duo. Their debut album reached No. 1 in their native country of Australia, and their songs tend to be gentle, sweet, and beautifully written.
Their EP, And the Boys, is no exception. All four of the songs on the track are primarily composed of soft guitar with keyboard and percussion backings. Julia provides the main vocals, with Angus occasionally harmonizing; her voice does not show much volume on this EP, but it’s well-pitched and pretty.
And the Boys appears to be about a girl feeling left behind by the boys in her life. “Change” is about saying farewell to a person you love. “Take You Away” is about providing comfort to someone who is sad. The last song on this track is a remake of “And the Boys” with French lyrics. All are good songs that are good to listen to on either a sad or a mellow day.
