Andrew Norelli: 'Cut Above Stupid' Comedic Album Review [VIDEO]

Stephanie Trottier

California-raised Andrew Norelli, once a part of the comedy show Seriously Unusual Television, has performed on shows with Jay Leno, Dave Chappelle, and Bob Saget. His newly released comedic compilation, Cut Above Stupid, proves that he is a rising star among the best of the business.

His comedic album has classic material - material that is sometimes overdone. Norelli points out the obvious and contradictory factors that influence our daily lives in a hilariously excellent way. However, his material does not just cover topics already done by other comedians. He takes a different perspective. Unfortunately, sometimes his perspective just seems like that of a cranky, overworked man grabbing a beer at the bar, complaining to the bartender.

Personally, my favorite off of Cut Above Stupid is “Point Break (with Swayze).” Norelli comments on the amazing acting skills of Patrick Swayze, pointing out the hilarious roles he has had to play. I thoroughly enjoy the way Norelli ridicules pop culture while trying to relate to his audience.

Norelli is down-to-earth, realistic, and humanistic. His comedic quality shows a love and appreciation for his fans and talks to them on an almost equal level, expressing the ridiculous absurdities of society and our routine lives. Norelli genuinely wants to make his fans laugh, unlike most comedians who seem to demand or assume they will be greeted with laughter.
