Bat out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose

Spectacular. Amazing. Well worth the wait.

Meat Loaf's "Bat out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose" is the final chapter in the "Bat Out of Hell" series and it doesn't disappoint.

Maybe I should throw my disclaimer in here: "Bat Out of Hell" is my favorite album of all time and "Bat II" is in my top 10.

That being said, "Bat III" has a much harder, rock feel to many of the songs. There are still the love songs -? similar to "All Revved Up" from "Bat I." The harder, more gothic feel may be because Jim Steinman did not write every song and John 5 from Marilyn Manson helped write some of the songs. I like the harder feel, as every song is intense like "Bat out Hell" from the first album.

There are some songs we have heard before on this album. The Steinman written song, but performed by Celine Dion, "It's All Coming Back to Me Now," is redone by Meat Loaf and is changed into a duet with Marion Raven. Trust me, this version is better. There are also some tracks from Steinman's solo album, "Bad for Good," including the track of the same name.

For me, the best song on the album is "Blind as a Bat." This is the typical Meat Loaf song, showing his strong vocals in addition to going all over the musical spectrum in one song.

I will say it again, "Bat out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose" is: Spectacular. Amazing. Well worth the wait.
