The music video to Beyoncé’s new single, “Best Thing I Never Had,” shows the singer in a role we haven't seen before—a woman getting married.

Because Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z secretly married in 2008, this music video is, in a way, an invitation for all fans that have always wanted to see Beyoncé in a wedding dress.

The video shows the singer wearing sexy bridal lingerie and a gorgeous wedding dress as she prepares for her picturesque outdoor wedding.

Home videos dated May 16, 1998 are shown of Beyoncé getting ignored at her prom by the “best thing she never had,” as the lyrics go.

We then see the powerful woman walking down the aisle to a beautiful future and laughing with her friends and family at the wedding reception.

“Best Thing I Never Had” is an influential song in and of itself, but this music video gives it a whole new meaning.

Although there’s no huge dance number like in “Single Ladies,” Beyoncé’s confidential stature in this video makes up for it and is able to empower any broken woman.
