Bethany and the Guitar's "Careful with Me" Review

Bethany and the Guitar, a lively acoustic pop band, consists of Bethany Parks, her brother Kurtis, and three other people. Their song, “Careful with Me,” starts off with two acoustic guitars and an added violin, and then the rest of the instruments join to collaborate and form a beautifully well-written song showcasing raw talent.

Bethany and the Guitar’s first album was released in March, 2011, and surprisingly, the band hasn’t shown up on the music scene, but then again, they’re a completely new band. Of course, a sweet voice of a girl from Virginia has to be paired with similarly sweet-sounding lyrics of brand-new, naïve love.

Repeatedly, Bethany sings the lyric, “Be careful with me.” Haven’t we all felt that way at one point in time? For me, the song is catchy and portrays the struggle between trusting someone else with your heart and saving yourself the trouble. All in all, a very fun tune!
