The final four make their way home. They were all welcomed back home with open arms. However, now the pressure is on for the contestants to deal with the struggles of being at home and continue on with their weight loss.
Bob and Jillian send videos to the contestant's home, which showed their weight loss journey on the ranch. Frado, Patrick, Elizabeth, and Ada took an emotional look back at how far they came.
The most touching part of the episode was Ada watching the video with her family. Ada’s mother finally revealed her true feelings while Ada explained how she felt neglected throughout her life. Her parents never realized Ada had emotional struggles and was this unhappy. For the first time ever, they had a heartfelt conversation.
The players gear up and prepare themselves physically and mentally for their final challenge: a 26.2 mile marathon. In the meantime, Frado teamed up with celebrity chef Curtis Stone for a charity fundraiser. Curtis Stone served up healthy dishes to participants and the charity event managed to raise over $25,000.
Bob and Jillian made surprise visits to the contestant's house to ensure they’re keeping up with their tasks. Bob visited the boys and Jillian visited the girls. The trainers gave the players a wake-up call when they all worked out at their local gym.
While all the contestants are working hard at home, Elizabeth was still making excuses for her laziness. She said the transition has been difficult for her since she was looking for an apartment and moved in with her boyfriend, who only eats processed foods. Jillian saw that Elizabeth is not putting in any effort at home after a brutal workout at the gym.
The players all start together at the beginning of the 26.2 mile marathon, but end up scattered trying to reach that finish line. The contestants who complete the challenge received $10,000 to give to the charity of their choice. Ada’s motivation was to try and beat Tara from season seven's time, and she did with 4 hours and 38 minutes. Following behind was Patrick, who crossed the line with his wife, then Frado, and last but certainly not least, Elizabeth. Who would have thought Elizabeth had the perseverance to finish a marathon when a few short weeks ago she passed out a few times while working out?
It’s the final weigh-in of the season. The final four hit the scale for the last time to reveal how much weight they lost at home. The boys took the top two spots, and the girls fell below the yellow line. Ada, who lost 12 pounds, and Elizabeth, who lost 15 pounds, ended up in the bottom two. Now it’s up to America to vote for who will take the spot in the final three.
