'The Biggest Loser' Recap: "Individuals"

Stephanie DeLuca
Episode 1009

For the first time this season, the contestants are playing as individuals rather than with a team or as pairs. At the beginning of the episode, Elizabeth is determined to show Bob and Jillian she has it in her to remain in this competition. Bob is still distraught over the fact that Jesse and Aaron were sent home last week.

Bob and Jillian had a surprise for the players: each contestant except Ada received a video from home. The Biggest Loser reached out several times to her parents, and no one has returned their phone calls. Ada has learned to be strong and do everything on her own. Lots of emotions were running while watching the videos from home. However, Ada was not left out of the loop. The players caught wind of Ada not having a video so they decided to make one of their own just for her.

Jillian pushed Elizabeth to her limits. At the initial challenge, Elizabeth had to do 500 step-ups, which she did not complete because she ended up fainting at 360 step-ups. Therefore, Jillian wanted her to finish what she started and gave Elizabeth the chance to do it again - and she did.

At the first challenge of the day, the players had to balance on one foot on a balance beam above a swimming pool. The winner of this challenge gets a one-pound advantage. In the end, Mark won. Challenge number two took place at Subway. Each contestant needed to make the best tasting sandwich that’s low in calories. The players get to taste each sandwich and vote on which is best. Lisa’s 250-calorie sandwich came out on top.

During the last chance workout, Elizabeth was being picked on once again. However, all the hard work she’s putting in at the gym did not show on the scale. Elizabeth only managed to lose four pounds, which put her in the bottom two with Jessica, who only lost one pound.

Jessica claimed she had a rough start in the beginning of the week because Jesse left the ranch. She knew at the weigh-in her number was not going to be a good one. Ada lost the most percentage of weight this week. Finally, a female managed to make it to the top of the list. After all that was said and done, Jessica was chosen to be sent home.
