Books Series Brought to Life

This summer, the cable network TNT brings new shows, mainly police dramas. One of the new shows includes Rizzoli & Isles, starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander. The show is based on a book series by Tess Gerritsen. Each episode is based on one of the novels, and the producers couldn't have chosen a better team.

Angie Harmon continues to shine in a familiar role. She is known for playing a tough, strong woman, such as her previous roles as a lawyer in Law & Order and a cop in the short lived drama Women's Murder Club.

Sasha Alexander plays the medical examiner, whose personality is the complete opposite of Harmon's. Her character loves fashion and is more feminine than Harmon's detective. Alexander is also familiar with police dramas, as she played an investigator in the first couple of seasons of NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service). In this new show, she is on the medical side of the investigations.

This is one of former Disney child star Lee Thompson Young's first adult roles. He started his career in a lead role in the tween drama The Famous Jett Jackson, and continued to make appearances in teen dramas including Smallville, and South Beach. This new role as Harmon's partner could show he's ready for adult dramas.
