Breathe

The best way to describe the beginning of this album is . . . interesting. Utilizing an eclectic array of sounds, Woodfish has many different "sounds" all crammed into one album. The first track has an intermittent saxophone, while the singer croons in an alternative style, trying to channel Fall Out Boy. The lead singer sounds like a cross between the lead singer of Matchbox 20 and Elton John - which, if you were wondering, is a good thing. The style is unsettlingly eclectic, however, so it may be hard for devoted fans of specific genres such as alternative or jazz to accept this album with open arms.
