Bride Wars

A romantic comedy about two best friends fighting over the same wedding date.

Emma, played by Anne Hathaway, and Liv, played by Kate Hudson, are best friends who have planned every facet of their weddings since they first witnessed a wedding at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Ever since they were young girls, they both decided that is where they wanted to and were going to be married.

At the start of the movie, both women get engaged and immediately go to schedule their weddings with New York's most famous wedding planner played by Candice Bergen. After thinking they scheduled their wedding on two different weekends in May, due to a clerical error they're weddings have actually been scheduled on the same day. After they try to compromise, they both decide they will not change their wedding day and therefore will not be each other's maid of honor.

The movie then climaxes as we see Emma and Liv trying to sabotage the others wedding. Emma switches Liv's hair dye so she gets colored blue while Liv turns Emma's tan vibrant orange and the list goes on-and-on.

However, the movie is not all about sabotage and frugality. Although, the movie has a pretty predictable ending with one relationship severed while the other one fixed, it still makes you feel good and even shed a tear of joy. "Bride Wars" might not be the best recommendation for a group of men, but it is a great movie to watch with a group of girlfriends. "Bride Wars" is now available on DVD.
