Author James Frey has done it again. With his newly released Bright Shiny Morning, he has managed to once again, leave readers floored. Author James Frey's newest release is undoubtedly a success. Those who loved My Friend Leonard as well as the infamous, A Million Little Pieces will surely appreciate this novel just as much-if not more.

Bright Shiny Morning does not have just a single plot; but rather, the book contains multiple stories of people's lives and attempts to survive in contemporary Los Angeles. Frey tells of two Midwest teens that have fled their broken homes and gone west, enduring on the love they have for each other. He tells of a young, ambitious Mexican-American woman held back by her self-consciousness. And he tells of a homeless man whose life goal was to be an alcoholic, yet finds himself seeking for answers. Frey tells these stories and many more, intertwining the stories between pages. He provides poignant glimpses of these people's lives leaving readers breathless and wanting more.

James Frey, known as a quasi memoirist, released Bright Shiny Morning as his first fiction novel. Yet, with the same candor he wrote A Million Little Pieces and My Friend Leonard, one cannot help but be mesmerized with Frey's prose; his great sense of storytelling enthralls reader like they are there with him as the novel unfolds.
