Broken Bridges
Pensive country ballads and sprightly tunes make up the "Broken Bridges Original Soundtrack." Country singer Toby Keith begins the album with a solemn first track as he is paired with a female vocalist in a song about bridges with lines like, "Some cross troubled water, some don't go no where." The second track picks up the pace a bit but his voice is much deeper with a solicitous tone to it. The third track is an authentically romantic serenade about missed opportunity with lines like, "I almost said I love you, could I really be that man? Watch my heart fill up with butterflies." The fourth track has some violin mixed in which makes the song special. The female vocalist is back with dejected lyrics like, "Woke up to a sunny day, not a cloud up in the sky. Then it starts to rain, my defenses hit the ground and they shatter all around, so open and exposed." The fifth track listeners could picture young lovers at a carnival maybe on their first date and falling in love with lines like, "Love is like a roller coaster, pretty as a circus poster." The sixth track has a classic country vibe to it and Keith is back with his trademark vocals. The seventh song is a story song about a boy wondering if the girl he likes is going to commit or continue to fool around. The "Broken Bridges Original Soundtrack" has ballads, dances tunes and enough variety for more than the just the traditional country music aficionado.
