Broken Flowers

Having not yet seen the movie, (yes, I know I should see it), I can't consider the Broken Flowers soundtrack in context with the film. However, this is an album review, not a film review, so I will just consider the soundtrack as its own entity.

The Broken Flowers soundtrack features a little something of everything, a little bit of rock, a little bit of jazz, a little bit of pop. Mulato Astatke is the main artist represented on the album. He has three tracks on the album, including the mesmerizing "Yegelle Tezeta." Astatke's sound balances well with the other tracks, and provides an excellent contrast for songs like Sleep's heavy rock instrumental, "Dopesmoker."
