Everyone is jumping on the low carb bandwagon. Why not ice cream companies? Perry's has developed Carb Delite in four flavors - butter pecan, chocolate, mint chip and vanilla. A - cup serving has either three or four grams net carbs depending on the flavor. My favorite flavor was the mint chip. It was creamy and thick with a light mint flavor. The chips were thick and fudgelike, which were a nice addition. The chocolate and vanilla were again creamy but they weren't as flavorful. I wasn't that crazy about the butter pecan. Even though it had big pecan pieces, which is a plus to me, the ice cream was not as creamy and it left an aftertaste. Overall, I would recommend the mint chip the most with vanilla and chocolate a close second. Keep in mind that Carb Delite, as well as other low carb ice creams, is high in fat and cholesterol. Remember also that low carb isn't for everyone. If a low carb diet has worked for you, this is a great addition.
