Dark Before the Dawn
Wearing suits and ties and with their short, neat haircuts, the members of The Two Timin' Four look like they could belong in the 1950s. Musically, their influences also date back to earlier decades, including Duke Ellington and Roy Orbison but also more modern artists like Franz Ferdinand.
When lead singer Eric Laufer croons, his vocals sound like those in earlier rock and roll and pop music but he can also give his vocals a contemporary sound. Shane Kiel on bass, Jeff Herring on lead guitar and newest member Patrick Morrow on drums do an excellent job, combining various genres of music from different time periods into their own unique sound on the group's original songs.
Rockabilly, pop and punk are a just few of the genres that can be discerned in their music. If you are nostalgic for the early days of pop and rock music but like contemporary music as well, try listening to The Two Timin' Four.
