Day & Night Driving

Available February 19th, 2008, "Day & Night Driving" by Seven Mary Three is the band's first release since 2004 and their first release on Bellum Records. Most famous for their single "Cumbersome" on their debut album "American Standard" in 1995, the four piece band has had over ten years to grow and mature; unfortunately, although their sound has changed it hasn't necessarily gotten better. Very accessible in a rock-radio way, the album rests on rock clich?s that will undoubtedly draw comparisons in listeners' minds when they listen to the single, "Last Kiss," which sounds like something their former tour-mates Matchbox 20 might have forgotten to record.

Despite the melodies being somewhat trite, the lyrics just may the saving grace of the album. Although they'll probably go unnoticed by the casual listener, the lyrics deal with slightly more mature themes, like self growth for example. Fans of the band should not be disappointed, but the radio listener won't be blown away.
