Dorm Sessions, Volume 3

Acting as a soundtrack to the daily hustle and flow of collegiate life, Dorm Sessions Volume 3 is a compilation released by Heavy Rotation Records, a student run label from Berklee College of Music, which showcases their homegrown talent. Just like a walk down the halls of a college dorm, Sessions offers a frenetic snapshot of what is going in Berklee's musical laboratory. From the pounding beats from the Dirty South to the angst filled lyrics of Emo, Dorm Sessions has its finger on the pulse of the new music.

Although leaning more on the hip-hop side of things, as a whole, this anthology offers a decent blend and would make a great listen on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Some of the standout tracks are Elizabeth and the Catapult's "Right Next to You," reminiscent of Zero 7, and "Butterfly Theory" by Project Move.
