Fire Away

Kill The Alarm's front man, Garen Gueyikian, describes his band's music as "intense and real." Intense definitely isn't the first word I would choose for the album "Fire Away," but the music is catchy and rocks without rocking too hard.

The album opens with "Sit Up," a song that grabs attention right away. The song (and the chorus especially) is addicting. It's a perfect opener for "Fire Away" -? "Sit Up" left me eager to hear more from the band.

The tracks all sound pretty much the same, but there are slight variations in their styles. For example, "Call On Me" seems darker than the other tracks and also uses different guitar distortion sounds.

Gueyikian's voice is perfect for the band. Several rock bands have singers with raspy voices and a lot of screaming, but Gueyikian's vocals are always rich and full. His singing style meshes well with Kill The Alarm's overall style.

There really aren't any bad songs on "Fire Away." The tracks all sound similar, but they are all engaging and have choruses that are easy to sing along with.
