G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is an adaptation of the toy franchise G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. Directed by Stephen Sommers the film features a cast based on various characters from the toy franchise. The film is wonderfully animated and has a completely virtual action packed feel to it. This film is possibly one of the best action-packed films of the year.

The film starts of following two soldiers on a mission to protect and transport a lethal weapon. A weapons expert, also head of the MARS Company which deals arms to NATO, has created a weapon comprised of nanotechnology which has the capability to destroy an entire city. While transporting the weapon the soldiers are ambushed by a group of people with the latest technology who want to steal the weapon. Right before the two soldiers are about to be killed by the enemy, they are save by an elite army squad called G.I. Joe.

The two soldiers join forces with the Joes when they find out that one of those who attacked them was one of the soldier's ex-girlfriend who went missing four years ago. As the two soldiers train to become part of the elite squad of soldiers a conspiracy is unfolding as the enemy is revealed to the audience's surprise. When the two soldiers finally become one of the Joes they go on an action-packed adventure to get back the nanotechnology-based weapons that were stolen before their enemy destroys whole cities with it.
