Hating my life as a freshman at Boston College, I used to spend a significant amount of time meandering through the freezing cold city avoiding actually attending class before I decided to transfer to a warmer locale.
However, if going to school in Boston offered me one thing, it is this- Brian Bergeron. In one of my trips through the city, I followed the heavenly acoustics and romantic voice that I heard from a distance only to find myself standing in front of an adorable guitar player selling his CDs on the street corner.
Naturally, being the romantic that I am, and having a soft spot in my heart for guitar players, I fished 5 dollars out my bag, bought The Great Escape EP, and struck up a casual conversation with the artist secretly hoping that he would write a song about me one day.
Despite the fact I still have no songs to my name, after purchasing his five song EP, I desperately awaited his first CD, We’ve Got to Find an Easier Way to come out on i-Tunes. Both are gems that I would recommend to anyone with even a drop of romance coursing through their otherwise frigid veins.
With songs that should play in the background of the most romantic scenes in love movies where the guy is running through the airport to get the girl before she heads off to some exotic destination where there will be no cell phone reception and their relationship will come to a complete halt if she gets on that one love-defining flight, Brian Bergeron’s CD should be in any lover’s arsenal.
Background music for a romantic dinner, songs to belt out in the shower, or even something to put on when you’re in the mood to cry over your most recent heart break -- Brian Bergeron works for almost every emotional occasion. With February being the month of love, why not splurge?
