Hand on Stove
Liz Clark with a CD title of Hand on Stove, seems angry and bitter like Alanis Morissette did when she first came to the music scene. Her songs aren't as fun and as crass as Alanis used to be. Since Alanis has found love and happiness her edge has dwindled a bit, so maybe this fate is for Ms. Clark. Liz Clark's style is somewhat independent mixed with pop and contemporary.
Clark is a guitar slinging, singer songwriter, from New York, via the Rocky Mountains with a definite bohemian hippie influence. She has been on the music scene since she was a teen and at the age of 23 she is considered a veteran. Her beats are soft and sometimes you definitely have to pay attention to what she is saying to hear that she is pouring her guts out into her music. But with title songs such as Be a Man, and Love and War, you can almost figure out what her issues are. But her melody and style don't say and angry and need to be heard, but are somewhat alluring and are something that seems to belong on the WB.
