Hang Love
Before listening to Hang Love, I had never heard any music by Burning Brides. In fact, I think I was only semi-aware that they exist.
Because of this, I was a little worried before I hit "play" on the first song. Based on the band name, you can imagine what I thought the group would sound like. Luckily, I was pleasantly surprised. Instead of screaming vocals and so-loud-it's-annoying guitars, the album is a nice range of abrasive to calm.
The first song on the album, "Ring around the Rosary," is dark and ominous. Although it's not the catchiest song on the CD, listening to it could serve as an outlet for venting frustration ? an alternative to doing something else like breaking things.
In contrast, the third track on the album, "She Comes to Me," is so listener-friendly that it sounds almost mainstream. If the entire CD sounded like this track, then Hang Love could probably find popularity with a wider audience, especially with people who like Hinder and other similar bands.
While Hang Love is nothing to be extremely excited about, it's not terrible either. The vocals mix well with the drums and guitar ? they complement each other rather than sound like they're fighting for attention. The variety of songs on the album makes it interesting to listen to from the start to the finish, but nothing really stands out on it in particular.
