Infertility strikes an average of one in every ten couples and can be due to a variety of female and male factors, or a combination of both. Some of these factors-- such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis-- can be aided by foods containing certain nutrients. If you are part of the one in ten, you probably have heard this before and have tried everything. Healing Gourmet Eat to Boost Fertility is a great guide in that it is practical. What is the point of knowing which nutrients you should have without knowing a good way to obtain them? This book not only shares in a knowledgeable way what the nutrients are but it provides 50 recipes to better apply the information you have read.BR>
The book gives a very basic overview of infertility and some causes. It discusses how lifestyle and diet changes can help you achieve pregnancy; these include exercise and cutting back substantially on animal fats-- especially if you have endometriosis. Throughout the book you will find tables that contain very useful information related to glycemic index and tips on how to stock your kitchen. Even if you are not trying to get pregnant the diet that Healing Gourmet promotes is an overall healthy diet full of fruits and veggies and lean meats.
The recipes in the back of the book are both easy to follow and delicious. I like the way the writers added, along with each recipe, what nutrients are in that particular dish. Once you are pregnant these are also very good recipes to make because they are good for a growing baby and mom to be.
