It's hard to categorize the exact genre for Patrick Stanfield Jones because he mixes a number of them so expertly in this album, A Heart and an Open Road. Blues, rockabilly, country, and a hint of jazz all combine in his songs, both originals and covers. He's got a great bluesy voice, and his guitar skills only help to support his voice.
He does a cover of four songs, including "The Best is Yet to Come" and "Sunshine of Your Love." He is able to mix the classics with his own style of rock/blues/country and make the song his own. He shows off with his perfectly placed guitar solos, and even the lyrics in his own songs match perfectly with his voice and fun-loving look.
Very nice album for his debut, and this will please a wide variety of music lovers.
