John Williams

The final Star Wars film is upon us and this soundtrack album written by the saga's composer John Williams is a terrific final bow. The first five tracks of this album flow together mixing new and old material. Starting off with the familar Star Wars Main Title we are instantly sucked into an action frenzy. Overall the mournful Force Theme is brought to the fore in this score and plays an important role in transitioning it to the first of the original trilogy, Episode IV: A New Hope. The new theme is called 'Battle of the Heroes' and is an exciting but menacing death march using the power of the full choir and orchestra. Some action tracks harken back to Williams' masterpiece The Empire Strikes Back in feel and the new theme is perfectly meshed with the classic Imperial March. A special DVD covering John Williams and the Star Wars music phenomenon is included with this release. Revenge of the Sith definitely deserves it's status as one of the most eagerly awaited soundtracks of the year.
