Fashion Designer Paul Frank brings his famous monkey, Julius, to the print world with the children's book, Wild West Bananza. Here, Julius is the sheriff of the town of Plainsville. As the name implies, the town is quite plain-for a Wild West town anyway-and everyone follows the same routines. However, just as Paul Frank is nowhere near plain, neither are his books.
Everyday, Sheriff Julius likes to go to the Meatball Corral where he gets a big plate of spaghetti. In fact, that is what everyone in the town does, just like Julius. Aside from their spaghetti eating habits, the town has other stringent habits. For instance, their jeans must be tucked inside their boots (not outside). The brim of their cowboy hats must always be up (not down). And the town members carry combs in their pockets; specifically, they carry their combs in the right pockets (not left).
However, one day, inspired by the recent banana spill, Julius decides that instead of his usual spaghetti, he will order banana pancakes. Who knew such a little change would result in a domino effect of change?
Suddenly, people are having the jeans outside their boots; they are having the brim of their hats down-some are even wearing entirely different hats! People in the town are suddenly wearing different shoes and cloths altogether! Will there ever be order in the town again?
Wild West Bananza tells a fun tale about change and fun in the unordinary. Just as Paul Frank designs fun clothes, with Wild West Bananza he designs a fun story as well.
