Junkie Faithful
The Ike Reilly Assassination has an all too familiar sound. What is it? Oh that's right, 60's folk rock. So, if you're looking for something on the cutting edge of rock, it's not The Ike Reilly Assassination. On their latest album, Junkie Faithful, Ike Reilly tries too hard to sound like Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan was a great musician, and a revolutionary songwriter, but his voice wasn't exactly melodious. Bob Dylan is a legend because he sang about things no one else sang about, and had a style all his own. If musicians want to be like him, they shouldn't try to be like him. Ike Reilly is a talented musician and he should be able to find his own place. The songs on the album such as, "Everything is Gonna Be Alright" would be good if Reilly wasn't trying to imitate the music legend.
