Just Beyond the Clouds

You can learn a lot about adults with Down Syndrome from this book. I have known two people with Down Syndrome, and watched one mother struggle to let her daughter become independent, so I can relate to that in this book.

Also, there is the struggle Cody Gunner and Elle face before they meet.

In this book you find romance, information about Down Syndrome, struggles siblings have, and hardships in life and what a good life source is.

Cody Gunner is a professional bullfighter who struggles with the loss of his wife. He has a brother with Down Syndrome.

Elle is a teacher who is left on the day of her wedding, and teaches the adults with Down Syndrome so they can become independent.

Then, there also are the mothers struggling with letting their children grow up and leave the nest - whether they have Down Syndrome or not.

There were two things that impressed me in this book. If a mother raises their kids to move out and live a fulfilled life, then they can face an empty nest fulfilled. Also behind every cloud, there is sunshine.

It is a must read book if you are going through hard circumstances, facing an empty nest, or dealing with kids with special needs.

It is so interesting to learn of Carl Joseph and Daisy's friendships as they attend class together and reach toward independence.
