Just a Matter of Time

The Randy Rodgers Band provides a unique country sound, but an average country album.

Randy Rodgers provides the classic country sound, complete with acoustic guitar, but his vocals are raspy and reminiscent of Chris Daughtry from the most recent season of "American Idol." This sound is pulled off well and is something different from country music.

The problem with The Randy Rodgers Band's most recent album "Just a Matter of Time," is the album offers little the listener hasn't heard in other county albums. Despite the unique sound the lyrics and instrumentals sound like every other country song on the radio today. I was hoping the music would match the one-of-a-kindness of the voice, but it just didn't happen.

Maybe country fans will like "Just a Matter of Time" more than I did; I just thought there was little to separate this album from the other country discs on the market.
