Kevin Cahoon; Ghetto Cowboy

Jaimie E. Gusman

Doll's new CD, "Kevin Cahoon; Ghetto Cowboy" talks about everything you shouldn't. The album's first track opens at a fast food drive-thru with, "Uh hello?" "Can I take your order?" This strange introduction to the 10-track album underestimates the weirdness of the rest of the album. The second track focuses on the names the lead singer must have been called in high school, his bad skin, and how being picked last at ball just proves that this guy is a geek. The chorus happily admits, "So what, I play with dolls/" which may be fine for the typical outcast, but the rest of us can live without the teenage rage. Doll has a punk rock/pop sound, something that will surely be overplayed on the radio.
