Let Love In
The Goo Goo Dolls' long awaited eighth album "Let Love In" has a stream of lovesick tracks and balladry that fans of the band will enjoy. Lead vocalist Johnny Rzeznik's cavernous voice makes the agonizing lyrics resonate even more.
"Let Love In" has a rock edge to it, which is embodied by the acute drumming on many tracks, but the thumping does not take away from the lyrics. The title track contains verses that deal with love and its many issues such as, "I'll take my chances while you take your time with this game you play." Then "Listen" picks up the pace of the album and veers away from the darker side of love that has dominated it. Although many of the tracks have a less than happy bent to them, if fans want an album where they can wallow in love lost and hear The Goo Goo Dolls' classic riffs and vocals, then "Let Love In" and go pick up this album as soon as possible.
