Let's Talk About Love

Lurrie Bell, well known Chicago blues guitarist, releases his latest studio project, "Let's Talk About Love." Son of famed blues harmonica player, Carey Bell, Lurrie grew up in a musical household, spending much of his childhood in the presence of blues legends such as Eddie Taylor and Lovie Lee. He formed his first band at 15; through the years he has performed with various groups and music greats, and contributed to over 50 albums. "Let's Talk About Love" is the first release on his own label, Aria B.G. Records.

At first listen, "Let's Talk About Love" appears to be a typical blues album, with all the trademarks that make a blues record traditional. "Directly from My Heart to You" is straight from early blues and jazz, down to the vocals and piano work. Bell's voice draws the listener in, with a soulful vocal style. "Earthquake and Hurricane" has a definite 20s swing feel to it, and again Bell combines traditional blues themes with other elements, creating a new sound. "Let's Talk About Love" is a fresh look at blues by one of the genre's greatest legends.
