Letters from Iwo Jima

Well, the film didn't get "Best Foreign Language Film" at the 2006 Golden Globes for nothing. Not only was Letters from Iwo Jima, starring Clint Eastwood, a fantastic movie, but the soundtrack isn't too bad either.

The music is composed of a wonderful orchestra that draws the listener to feel pain, worry and hope throughout the movie. The music itself is incredibly moving, especially piecing it to such a dramatic and meaningful story line.

The director of the film, actor Clint Eastwood, gives this film as a tribute to those who lost their lives on both sides of the war. On the film's official website, it states that, "The director hopes to tell both sides of the story and, with any luck, collectively reveal a new way of looking at this profoundly affecting moment in our shared history."

The free and spiritual composed notes of the film also give the audience a sense of what Eastwood wanted the movie to stand for: loss, tribute and freedom.

The film is now playing in select cities.
