Michael Behm Is 'Saving America'

A review of Michael Behm's new album: 'Saving America.'

Michael Behm is a very talented guitarist and singer, and he showcases these abilities in his new album, entitled Saving America. The album, as a whole, is fun to listen to and some of the songs are very catchy. Not only is Behm a talented songwriter but he also knows how to be crowd-pleaser with these songs. Most of his songs are versatile, but light enough to appeal to many people.

Some of my favorites on the album include “Don’t Believe,” the opening number, a fun and catchy tune. In fact, I found myself singing the melody after having only heard it once. I also enjoyed listening to “Honesty,” which showcases Behm’s vocal range, and the intricate but soulful guitar solos add some spice to the album as a whole. “Lincoln,” the ballad of the album, was a nice slowdown with beautiful lyrics and a haunting piano melody.

Some of the songs, like “The Art of Letting Go” and “Danger Boy,” were dipping points in the album, and bordered into the realm of uninteresting. I almost wanted to skip these songs and instead put “Don’t Believe” on repeat.

This is my first time listening to Michael Behm and I was impressed with both his musical talent and the timbre of his voice. However, I felt that beyond the songs that were mentioned, much of his music is a bit forgettable, and takes a few listens to really get into. Even though I found his music and this album to be more of an acquired taste, his musical style is worth getting used to.
