Morphology is one of the most unique games that will help shake up the usual family board game night. The game promotes creativity in a way that few other games do. If you are the most creative player, you get to win this hilarious, fun game.
The game package comes with a list of stuff that you normally wouldn’t think of needing for a game. It comes with a barrel, four wooden people, eight wooden sticks, two black circles, a string, a timer, 16 glass beads, a die, four team frogs and 20 cubes. Still, the game is pretty simple. First, you and your family or friends divide into teams. Each turn starts with you pulling a word from the deck of cards. Then, you have to use the included shapes and pieces to build that word. Your teammates will have to guess what the word is before the timer runs out. If they do, you get to move your frog forward one lily pad. Whichever team reaches the end first wins!
That isn’t the only way to play, though. There are countless ways to change it up. There are ways to make it harder for the morphologist - the member of each team that builds the word. A morphologist could have his or her ‘dominant’ hand behind his or her back, using their ‘weak’ hand to build the word or you could try to make the word only using the piece of string. Another challenge could be picking five pieces before knowing what the word is.
Clearly, this is a great game to have around the holidays to keep your family and friends’ thinking caps on. It’s a fun way to reward the most creative minds you know!
