New Monastery

Nels Cline's CD "New Monastery" is a wonderful mix of music. This CD contains many striking tracks that are filled with various types of instrumentals including but not limited to a guitar, oboe and piano. There is a wonderful rhythm, sound and melody to each piece and they work as a whole to touch your soul. Much of this CD contains a lot of experimental pieces.

Nels Cline has performed on over 100 albums in various genres...country, pop, jazz and rock. He has been a member of a dozen bands. He is currently a member of the band Wilco, who received a Grammy in 2004. He was also recently featured on the cover of Guitar Player Magazine.

"New Monastery" contains mostly long and intense tracks. They pull listeners in with intriguing sound and striking combinations. I would recommend this to fans of Nels work as well as fans of experimental jazz.
